Company History: YEAR EVENTS1989 - The company was incorporated on 10th November under the Companies Act 1956 in the name of Matrix Material Limited and registered with the Registrar of Companies Maharashtra Bombay. 1990 - The Company obtained the Certificate for Commencement of Business on 22nd January.
1992 - The name of the Company was subequetly changed to Tata Advanced Materials Limited with effect from 18th November on which date the Company obtained the fresh Certificate of Incorporation consequent upon the change of name from the Registrar of Companies Karnataka at Bangalore.
- The Company is in the process of setting up a project for the manufacture of compoiste products which are made from matrices like polymers ceramics and metals along with reinforcements like organic fibres and inorganic fibress.
- The compoiste products manufactured using advanced technology are characterised by their extremely light weight yet very strong physical properties and their high corrosion resistance. With such properties composites find application in diverse fields like light weight armour transportation engineering equipment structural engineering transmission towers components for the aviation industry and a variety of other engineering sectors.
1995 - During the year the Company raised Rs. 63 313 000 by way of Share Capital consisting of 2 700 000 No. of equity shares of Rs. 10 each from the public and 3 361 300 No. of equity shares of Rs.10 each from the promoters and their associates.
- Mr. V. P. Shenoy has resigned from the position of Managing Director and Director w.e.f. 27th June and the Board wishes to place on record its appreciation of the services rendered by him since inception of the Company. Mr. K. Sankaran Nair Mr. D. S. Pendse Brig K. Balasubramaniam (Retd.) and Mr. Syamal Gupta Directors of the Company retire by rotation and being eligible offer themselves for re-appointment.
1996 - The company received top exporter award for the year 1993-94 from The Plastics & Linoleums Export Promotion Council under the category of PVC fabricated goods in respect of Company's export of bullet proof jackets.
- The company has entered into a technical collaboration with Norline Transport Systemer A/S Norway which is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of light weight containers in reinforced plastics in Europe.
- The company was awarded second prize of the National Award instituted by the Dept. of Defence for Excellent performance in the indigenisation of defence stores & equipment in July.
1997 - The company signed a Memorandum of Understanding with McDonnell Douglas for manufacture of Radomes for certain Aircrafts manufactured by them.
- The Directors regret to report the demise of Mr. Ramesh K Bhasin Director of the Company. The Board has appointed Mr.S.H.Rajadhyaksha as Director in the place of Mr.Ramesh K Bhasin.
- The Company has entered into financial lease agreements with Tata Finance Ltd. for assets the cost of which aggregates to Rs. 31 66 805.
1998 - The company has entered the telecom shelter business during the year.
2000 - The scheme approved by AAIFR includes conversion of intercorporate deposits of Rs. 15.80 crores from Tata Industries Ltd. to the company into equity shares at a face value of Rs 10/- each and the company has been directed to issue shares on 20th September.
2001 - Tata Industries Ltd. promoter of the company holds 77.26% of the paid-up equity share capital of the company
- The Company has entered into an agreement with National Securities Depository Ltd. and Central Depository Services (India) Ltd. for dematerialisation of equity shares.
