Company History: The main promoter of the Company is Shri Sebastian Chokkattu a Hong Kong based Non Resident Indian. Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. has joined as a co-promoter.The Company was incoporated on 07/07/1992 as Trend Apparel Accessories Pvt Ltd. in the state of Kerala with its Registered Office at No. 318 Panampilly Nagar Cochin-682015 for manufacture of ready made garments and allied products. On April 3rd 1993 the Company was converted into Public Limited Company and its name was changed as TREND DESIGNS LTD. The registered office of the company was changed to No. 20 Cochin Export Processing Zone Kakkanadu Cochin-682 030.
The cost of Phase I as appraised by KSIDC was at Rs. 196.00 lakhs. The company has incurred Rs. 141.27 lakhs towards fixed capital expenditure and net current assets upto 30/06/93 and this was financed by term loan of Rs. 81.80 lakhs from KSIDC and promoter's contribution of Rs. 59.47 lakhs. The company has already installed 294 machines out of 334 envisaged for Phase I and has started commercial production (Phase I) from 1st April 1993 as per the schedule.
The company has established the Phase I of the project in Cochin Export Processing Zone for the manufacture of garments with an installed capacity of 1.65 lakhs dozens of T-Shirts per annum. Commercial production commencd from 01/04/1993.
To carry on the business of manufacturers processors traders importers exporters and otherwise dealers in fabrics textile goods garments including leather garmetns and garment accessories including labels zippers buttons and padding materials.
