Company History: Indo Swiss Exports Ltd. (ISE) was incorporated as Indo Swiss Shoe Company Private Ltd. on 6th January 1988 and was later converted into a Public Limited Company on 4th February 1993. The company's name was changed to Indo Swiss Exports Limited and a fresh certificate of incorporation was issued by the Registrar of companies Tamil Nadu vide their letter dated 22.2.1993.ISE is engaged mainly in the manufacture of full shoes with an installed capacity of 1 000 pairs of full shoes and 1 000 pairs of shoe uppers per day. The company started commercial production in July 1990.
The company exports full shoes to U.S.A. Canada and U.K. and shoe uppers to Italy.
The company had entered into a foreign collaboration agreement with 'Peter Huber Shoe Corporation A.G' Switzerland represented by Mr. Peter Huber on 4th January 1988. The agreement covered inter alia use of the brand name "Peter Huber" for marketing the company's products in any part of the world except India. The collaboration was approved by the Government of India vide letter reference no. FC.II.267(88)/293(88) dated 30.8.88. The validity of the approval was for 2 years. The agreement was not renewed. However Mr. Peter Huber continues to be a shareholder in the company holding 1 64 000 equity shares of Rs. 10/- each aggregating Rs. 16.40 lakhs.
