Company History: YEAR EVENTS1987 - The Company was incorporated on 14th April under the name Yokogawa Keonics Limited and obtained the Certificate to Commence Business on 31st December. - The company was promoted jointly by Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation (Keonics) Yokogawa Electric Corporation Japan and Blue Star Limited India.
- The Company is engaged in the manufacture of Instrumentation and Process Control Systems. The business of the Company can be divided broadly into three categories - Systems Products and Services.
- The Company entered into a Technical Collaboration with co-promoter Yogogawa Electric Corporation Japan (YEC) on 29th September for a period of 8 y ears which expired on 30th September 1995.
1993 - The name of the company was changed to Yokogawa Blue Star Ltd w.e.f 1st of January.
- The Company stepped up its drive for technology absorption indigenisation and technology adaptation.
1994 - The Company had set up a Software Technology Park Unit in the year.
1995 - The quality drive in the Company gained momentum during the year which gave encouraging results. The Directors are pleased to report that the Company obtained ISO 9001 Certification in June. 1996 - The Company has established new records of performance in terms of business growth in almost all sectors of its operations namely Systems Products Engineering Software and Exports.
- The Company has established a global presence in the international market for contracting and engineering business.
1997 - The Company commenced construction if a state-of-the-art software facility with direct communication links to USA & Japan.
- The Company has built up a very strong and dedicated work force of skilled engineers professionals and managers who are vital for the industry in which we operate.
- Yokogawa Blue Star is setting up a 100 per cent export unit at Software Technology Park (STP) Keonics city.
- The company has already entered into agreements with US-based Johnson Yokogawa for making headway into the US exports market.
- Yokogawa Blue Star (YB) a 40:29 joint venture between Yokogawa Electric Corporation (YEC) Japan and Blue Star India is one of the leaders in the process control industry.
- Yokogawa Blue Star Ltd has come out with a rights issue of 43 75 000 equity shares of Rs.10 each at a premium of Rs.30 aggregating to Rs.17 50 00 000 in the ratio of one new equity share for every share held.
- YBSL has signed agreements with Yokogawa Japan's US based venture Johnson Yokogawa and Yokogawa Europe known as YKS.
- YBSL has set up a separate software division in Bangalore's Electronic Park where it plans to appoint 300 software engineers by the year end.
1998 - Yokogawa Blue Star Ltd (YBL) is all set to introduce enterprise technological solutions (ETS). ETS will be launched at the PowerGen exhibition to be held in Delhi in September this year.
- Bangalore-based Yokogawa-Bluestar Ltd (YBL) a joint venture between Yokogawa Electric Corporation (YEC) of Japan and Bluestar Ltd plans to make a foray into supplying simulators and providing training to operators and maintenance staff of power plants.
- Techcomm Simulation with a paid-up capital of $3.3 millions in collaboration with Yokogawa Bluestar Ltd would fill the gap in India as far as training of the staff is concerned.
1999 - YBL has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Yokogawa Singapore to undertake advanced process control operations in refineries.
- The company has also introduced terminal automation system at the Mathura refinery.
2000 - The Company joint venture between Blue Star and Yokogawa Electric of Japan will float a separate arm for IT in order to represent the new economy.
2007- Master Capital Services Limited has submitted a copy of the public announcement issued by Yokogawa Electric Corporation Japan (the "Acquirer") in respect of the proposed acquisition and delisting of the equity shares of Yokogawa India Limited (the "YIL/Company") in accordance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Delisting of Securities) Guidelines 2003 (the "Guidelines").
